Jing
Jing is loaded on our computers in the lab. You can find it in the Applications folder inside the Macintosh hard drive (the icon labeled “untitled” in the upper right corner of the screen). We will demonstrate Jing in class. It is a very simple program to use, so rather than writing instructions, here are links to two short demonstration videos:
Using Jing to capture images: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZKhz0tSVII
Using Jing to capture video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1jw8O0z4S0
You can download Jing at no cost from http://www.jingproject.com. It will run on either a Mac or a PC. The free version of the program saves videos as .swf files which must be played back on a website. You can upload them to Jing’s own screencasting website, or you can save them and add them to your own website.
